Victims treated for burns after plane bound for Ohio airport crashes in Pennsylvania
We're learning more details about those aboard a small plane that crashed in Pennsylvania while on its way to an airport in Ohio.
The plane was carrying five people when it crashed into the parking lot of a retirement community in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
"I turned around and here was an airplane coming up the backyard about ten feet off the ground. Subsequently hit a bunch of trees and both rows of cars and instantly blew up," Resident Dale Jerchau said.
Jerchau said those aboard the plane evacuated at about the same time the plane caught fire.
"All of a sudden I noticed this movement to my right and I saw five people crawling out. They survived that plane crash which is amazing," he said.
The plane had taken off from Lancaster Airport, across the highway from where it crashed.
The pilot had reported an issue with a plane door. The plane was given clearance to land and that's when those aboard stood up and walked back against the wall.
The five people aboard, two males and three females, appear to be a family of four and a friend of the family.
Some of the injured were taken to be treated for burns.
Now investigators are trying to piece together what happened.
