Flora man age 34, Ethan Cosner, was sentenced to 5 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for pleading guilty to class 3 felony theft over a motorcycle.
In the Clay County State’s Attorney, Philip M. Givens report it describes, the crime occurred on December 26, 2024, when Cosner attempted to permanently retrieve the motorcycle without the owner of the vehicle’s permission. Cosner pled guilty to the offense on January 13th, 2025. After a contested sentencing hearing of May 21, 2025, Cosner has now been sentenced to 5 years behind bars. Cosner will have a 6-month period of mandatory supervised release.
